It's almost the end of the "National Annual Thorough-Cleaning Week!" 一年一度國家清潔週 (thorough-cleaning 可譯為"徹底清潔"，是小編依照大掃除要把家裡上上下下打掃乾淨而自己創造的組合英文字)即將進入尾聲(104年2/11-2/17)，你開始動手清潔環境了嗎?在這一周(week)，許多人拿起清潔工具(cleaning tools)，攜手清潔家園及環境。
今天優酷英語文理就要教教大家10個生活中清潔常見工具的英文:
1. 掃把: broom / e.g.(例) Please pass me the broom so I can sweep the floor. 請給我掃把好讓我掃個地。
2. 畚箕: dustpan / e.g. Where's the dustpan? I need to collect the dust here. 畚箕在哪? 我要把灰塵掃起來。
3. 抹布: towel / e.g. Dampen the towels before you wipe the windows. 擦窗戶前，把抹布用濕。(* paper towel 為廚房紙巾)
4. 水桶: bucket / e.g. Take the mop and the bucket to Mr. Hong, please. 請將拖把和水桶拿給洪先生。
5. 清潔劑: detergent / e.g. Don't put too much detergent in the water. 水裡面別放太多清潔劑。
6. 漂白水: bleach / e.g Use some bleach because it'll kill most germs. 用點漂白水因為它可以殺死大部分病菌。
7. 海綿菜瓜布: scrubbing sponge / e.g. The floor is really dirty. Clean it with the scrubbing sponge.地板好髒!用海綿菜瓜布清清吧!
8. 刷子: brush / e.g. Please do not use the brush to clean the glass. It scratches. 請別用刷子清潔玻璃。這樣會刮傷(玻璃)。
9. 手套: glove(s) / You'd better wear gloves because the detergent will hurt your skin. 你最好戴上手套，因為清潔劑會傷害皮膚。
10. 口罩: mask / e.g. If you are allergic to dust, you should put on the mask. 如果你對灰塵過敏，你就應該戴上口罩。

Tiffany: " I see. Guess you can always drum up good reasons before doing things, huh? Is there anything I can help? I'm also kind of in the mood of cleaning."
蒂芬妮:「了解。你總是能替自己找到做事情的好理由厚?有什麼我能幫忙的?我現在剛好有點打掃的FU。」
Johnny: " Nice! Why don't you get me the dustpan downstairs, so I can collect the dust here. By the way, also take some bleach, the detergent and towels so we can wipe the floor later."
強尼:「好唷!那你幫我去樓下拿畚箕，這樣我才可以把灰塵掃起來。對了，順便拿點漂白水、清潔劑，以及抹布，這樣我們等等可以擦地板。」
Tiffany: "Sure thing. But why don't you use the mop? Isn't it more convenient and efficient?"
蒂芬妮:「那是一定。但你為什麼不用拖把? 不是比較方便和有效率嗎? 」
Johnny: "True. But I prefer to brush each tile with the scrubbing sponge. Trust me, it's much cleaner."
強尼:「沒錯啦。但我比較喜歡用菜瓜布刷每一塊磁磚。相信我，這樣比較乾淨。」
Tiffany: "Fine. Do you need a bucket too? It'll save you trips between the floor and the facet."
蒂芬妮:「好吧。你需要個水桶嗎? 這樣你就不用地板和水龍頭兩頭跑。 」
Johnny: "You're so smart! And I believe you'll need a pair of gloves because you don't want your lovely hands to be harmed."
強尼:「你真聰明! 我相信你應該需要一雙手套這樣你的玉手才不會受傷。」
Tiffany: "Also, I need a mask because I'm quite allergic to dust. O.K. Let's do it now because I don't want to sweep my good fortune away."
蒂芬妮:「還有，我還需要一個口罩，因為我很容易對灰塵過敏。好吧。我們趕快打掃吧。我可不想把我的好運掃走唷。 」
Johnny: " Ha! Ha! I don't know you're also into those superstitions. But...oh well, it doesn't hurt to have a healthy and clean living place. Thanks for offering to help me clean. You're truly a nice roommate."
強尼:哈哈!我不知道你也這麼迷信耶。但...好吧，有個健康乾淨的居所也無傷大雅。謝謝你主動幫我打掃。你真是個好室友唷!」
