Today was a special day for some of my students in the GEPT class. They told me they didn't exactly know how to complete their homework and it was actually a piece of GEPT(Basic) writing practice. If you're also one of those who always have difficulty "coming up with ideas," then why don't you follow the steps below:
今天幫同學上全民英檢作文時，發現有些新同學是第一次接觸英語寫作，更不用說知道如何完成指派的作業(全民英檢看圖寫作，50字)。今天老師花了些時間跟大家講解英文作文應該要如何寫，點子要怎麼想，上下文要如何連接，大家都上得很開心，也很踴躍發言，感覺真是有成就感! 如果你還不知道該怎麼開始寫英文作文，那不妨看看以下的寫作要訣:

※ TIPS(要訣):

(1) 主題句(通常為文章開頭第一句，記得要內縮兩個字, indent)通常會直接把主角(WHO)跟做動作的地點(Background action +WHERE)和發生時間(WHEN)一氣呵成寫出來。如果可以的話，也可以說明主角(們)為何要這麼做。

例如: Billy and his friends practiced playing volleyball at City Stadium last Sunday because the annual National College Volleyball Game was drawing near.

(2) 接下來，再把圖片中一連串的動作(WHAT1, 2, 3, 4, etc.)等等按照邏輯常理逐一敘述，記得不要只用逗點(,)來連結句子。要使用連結詞(and, but, so, because, after, before, although)來連接句子。公式為 (n+1)或是1「連」接2句。轉折語(transitions)的使用，則可添增文章的流暢度與文章的可看性。記得!一篇平鋪直述的文章是無聊乏味的! 有前提+豐富生動敘述+高潮迭起的劇情才能勝出!

例如: Last year they lost the game, so they decided to practice harder and win the championship this year. In spite of the hot and sizzling weather, they still played volleyball under the big sun the whole morning.

(3) 最後結論將主角感受(how the main character feels)或是你從此故事學到經驗教訓(lessons learned from the story)作一個分享。

例如: From this incident, Billy learned that a healthy body is more valuable than the award. Thus, he wouldn't practice so hard next time and he would take care of himself better.
